Note

Charlotte Beatrice Life was born in 1888 to James T Life (draper) and his wife Annie (dressmaker). She had younger brothers Ernest and Richard, younger sisters Lucy, Mary and Gwen. Of the six children, only three survived by the 1911 census - Charlotte, Ernest and Gwen. The family had moved to 9 Ranelagh Road, Pimlico by 1911, but had moved to London before 1901.
