Note

Margaret Colvin Leask and John Flaws: After their marriage John and Margaret moved to "Stone" within Sandwick and Cunningsburgh. Given the lack of John's presence in the 1871 and 1881 census I suspect he was a seaman. At some point they moved to Liverpool where in 1891 they moved to 49 Morton, Toxteth Park, Liverpool, where John is still plying his trade at sea. Of their children only John, aged 10, is with them. Margaret dies in 1896.

In the summer of 1902 John Flaws marries Anne Tomlinson in West Derby, Liverpool and gains two step-sons. In 1918, John and Anne, who is from north Wales, can be found living at 79 Dorrit Street, within Toxteth Park. John dies in Walton Hospital, Liverpool in the spring of 1926.

Note that the name of "Flaws" can have a number of variations!
